Project Plan for Success: Heritage Resolutions for 2025
The start of a fresh year should be exactly the motivation you need to get back on with a stalled project car.
The skinned knuckles and stripped threads of 2024 are all behind us now and 2025 brings with it renewed enthusiasm, the opportunity to attend new events and the chance to meet new people who enjoy this hobby as much as you do.
With that in mind, here are a few of our goals for the coming year.
Finish the Rally Beetle
We've been working away on this car for a while and you can follow the progress on our YouTube channel.
Now it just needs a final push and a drive to the MOT station for an annual safety check, and it's good to go!
Should it need any replacement VW Beetle parts, well, we're in the right place! But fingers crossed we've already addressed any issues or concerns the tester may have had.

Reunite the green Golf with Mr Bendon
2024 was a busy year for us, and sadly we didn't make it back to Romford with the Green Mk2 Golf. So this year, we really must keep up with our promise to go back and visit him with his beloved car. It'll be £12.50 well spent!
If you haven't already, read the full story about this car here. Or follow the videos on our YouTube playlist.

Tidy our workshop
A clean and tidy workshop is a nicer place to work, and we're lucky enough to have a small inside space at Heritage HQ to tinker with a project car or two. However, in the past few years, our workshop has become a dumping ground for anything without a proper home, and it's time to turn that around.
We recently did some Porsche parts filming with our friends from 9Werks, so we've made a start on the housekeeping, but a fixed workbench and some better storage would be a welcome addition to improve productivity and raise our content quality. Watch the 9werks video here.

Get muddy...
With Land Rover parts now making up a percentage of our business, it seems sensible that we include some off-roading fun in our 2025 resolution.
Maybe we can find ourselves a suitable project, or perhaps hitch a ride over the South Downs and get stuck in the mud with some new friends.

Go to new places!
Andy got the year off to a flying start, making his debut visit to Brooklands Museum on January 4th. The event was cold, but quite well attended, and set in a wonderful place full of motorsport and aviation history. If you haven't been before you should add this to your Sat Nav!
There are still plenty of other bucket list automotive destinations to explore though including Santa Pod, Thruxton, Anglesey, Snetterton, a couple of Caffeine & Machine locations and B-Road Hunting Club at The Stag, in Kent. That's before travelling to continental Europe and calling in on Spa Francorchamps, Nurburgring, the Porsche museum and of course our European Distribution Centre in Bremen, Germany. Some of those might have to wait for another year though!

Team goals for 2025
Elsewhere in the team, there are plenty of vehicle-focused resolutions; from fixing to travelling and even a spot of racing too.
Barney wants to build a garage at home so he can assemble the unbuilt 550 Spyder kit car we have sitting patiently in the warehouse.
Guy wants to upgrade from his T5 to something bigger and do more 'off-grid' camping.
Chris needs to fix the heater blower in his Type 25 and add a secondary heater. He also fancies buying a cool daily driver to get him to and from the office. He's after a VR6 Passat B4, if you know of one for sale!!
Dean needs to service his T5, fit some blinds in the back, track down the water ingress and then wants to go to Santa Pod!
Don has got plenty of shows on his radar, not to mention some Drag Racing in his own car, and crewing for his friend Jay and his record-breaking Columbia Speedway Bay Window.
Max has almost finished his Beetle project, which has been off the road since 2009. He hopes it will make it to the Volksworld Show in March.
Phil might be a recent starter in the company but has his sights set on driving a Porsche (or maybe even a few) in 2025, and buying himself a Transporter.
Mark will be moving house shortly and has already bought a shiny roll cabinet to store his tools in, which will fit nicely in his first-ever garage! 2025 will be a time for more DIY mechanics.

Learn a new skill...
One of the great things about our hobby is the accessibility to learning material, and the encouragement to have a go from other enthusiasts. Whilst there are plenty of professionals on hand to do the work for you (check out our Garage Hub to find a specialist near you) there are many jobs you can tackle yourself with a basic tool kit and skills like welding, upholstery and mechanics will not only be rewarding to learn, but they'll save you some money too. Check out local engineering colleges for evening courses or enrol in a training day such as the Type 2 Detectives Boot Camp to get taught by professionals who understand your vehicle inside out.

Tell us what you have planned
We're always keen to hear about your projects and what you have planned.
Drop us an email with a few pics and some words and we'll compile a community-based follow-up article in the next few weeks.
For now, Happy New Year!
