I have a type 4 engine and can’t see where this item fits into the engine. Does this part come with installation instructions or can you give me some info on where it fits on the engine?

Morning Geoffrey,
You'll need to use the sender that you've already have with an adaptor,
https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/v323100-csp-oil-temperature-sender-adapter-for-1700-2000cc.html
This screws in place of the Oil Relief valve screw on a typ4 motor.

On a Type 1 dual relief engine, should this temperature sensor be fitted in the relief valve with the long spring (pully end ) or short spring (flywheel end) ? Or doesn't it make much difference?
Question by: Nigel Clark on 1 Feb 2025, 12:19
Morning Nigel,
Please use V323064 if you're replacing the oil relief screw. And it should be fitted at the pulley end as that is the one closest to the oil flow from the sump.
