Heretics: September was Supreme!

Wait! Can we press rewind and do that all over again?! If you missed September’s event we reckon it was probably the best yet and we’re gutted you couldn’t make it.

Early start!

For a change, and to help combat the fading light we encouraged enthusiasts to arrive just as we closed, at 5.30 rather than at 6 pm. This seemed to work well, and our yard was flooded with air and water quicker than ever!

The lure of a bargain...

Another first for Heretics was our ‘yard sale’ stock clearance event. We’d decked out our workshop with a few tables and upturned crates and emptied our shelves of the stuff that gathers dust. There were all sorts, from cancelled special order seat covers through to wheels with a few scuffs, all heavily-reduced to clear. It seemed to prove popular and it’s something we hope to repeat again in the future.

Goodbye summer sun

So much to see:- The Bus Edition.

Wow! What a mix of machinery we were treated too. The weather did us a huge favour and definitely encouraged some stunners out to play.

The Beast...

Great to see John Mitchell's Corrado on the move and drawing a crowd, check out our magazine feature on John Mitchell Racing here.

So much to see pt.2

Kafer Crowd

The ‘good old Beetle’ had a bumper turnout representing pretty much every style you could imagine.

Fix.It.Again.Tomorrow?!!

Arguably one of the stars of the show was Dom Perkins Fiat 126! This pint-size (driven here by our Web Designer Dave) classic was decked on a set of ATS Classics and had everyone commenting on how cool it was.

Old is gold!

Whilst Heretics is essentially a VW and Porsche event we turn a ‘blind eye’ to anything old and awesome. This month we got treated to an eighties Mazda Pick-Up on hydraulics, a 3dr Sierra Cosworth and a seventies BMW too (oh and Eliot’s Ford Ranchero and Chevy Camero!!)

#becauseracecar

You may have clocked the Porsche 964 race car belonging to Paragon Porsche. Barrett from Paragon left his Early Bay Bus at home and was kind enough to come down in this instead.

Sportscar selection

From a pair of 356’s through to a monster 997.2 GT3RS, the Porsche back catalogue was beautifully played out around the carpark.

The little bits...

Nice lineup.

Some words of thanks

We’ll take a second to thank all those who have made 2019 our best Heretics season yet. Mark and Beth - your Bratwurst has fed the masses, and ‘Frank’ is practically a member of staff now!!  ‘On the Road’ smoothie Bar - we met these guys at Armada earlier in the year - thanks for coming along and getting involved!  Lee Milner - our resident Photographer has captured some wonderful moments for us to illustrate our Magazine articles and galleries each month. Rob Pugh - thanks for your hard work on the films chap!  Our DJ’s - Kenny, Brian Mole and finally Chris Watson - you’ve created the soundtrack for some fantastic evenings.

I’ve started so I’ll continue...

Thanks to VW clubs and magazines who have helped us share our event online and in print. To our Heritage team who start early and stay late to tidy the yard, work in the shop, help organise parking, keep our followers up to date on social media and all the rest, it’s appreciated!

And lastly!!!

Thanks to everyone who has come along in 2019 to support our event. Each extra car adds another dimension to the diversity of what #driveheritage is all about. The lifestyle, the cars and the people. If you’re keeping your vehicle on the road this winter we look forward to seeing you at our Santa Cruise on Sunday 1st December. Our Heretics evening meets will return again in April 2020. Andy
