Heretics September 2022: Photo Gallery

That's it... We've completed another season of our Heretics meetings here at Heritage HQ. September may have seen sunset arrive more swiftly and some lower temperatures than in the summer, but that didn't stop it from being the busiest and one of the best of the year. Check out the stars of the car park below, and see if you can spot anyone you recognize in amongst the crowd.

It wouldn't be the same without you

We ran our first Heretics event in 2009, back when we were based in Burgess Hill, and ever since we have had the pleasure of welcoming some fantastic enthusiasts with wonderful cars and campers, each with a story to tell. These events would be nothing without you. It doesn't matter if you bring a dirty daily driver or a polished, fire-spitting show queen, everyone is equal and you all add to the ambiance and excitement that these monthly events bring.

The art of conversation

Save for a quick once over with a microfibre, the cleaning has been done at home. Heretics is the time to catch up with friends and chat all things VW and Porsche.

Coming in strong

We never know how many cars or vans are going to turn up. It can be quiet at 6 o'clock or it can be rammed. Arrivals came strong and steady and for the first time this year we ran out of marked parking spaces.

DJing into the dark

It was a real pleasure to have Brian Mole back behind the decks for us providing the soundtrack for our evening.

Sunset Trip

Whilst daylight was fading fast, dusk added to the atmosphere and offered some lovely light for those wishing to get creative with their camera.

Cooking up a storm

Thanks to the guys from Cairovan who catered once again for our gathering of car and camper lovers. Their bespoke bus trailer really looks the part and their Egyptian street food is nothing short of fantastic.

Don's Dragster

Don from our Tech Team brought his race car along for the evening, fresh from its recent outing at VW Action. It's fair to say you probably heard it, even if you weren't there! For those who like numbers it is a 1972 Bug with a 2276cc naturally aspirated engine, and it ran a very worthy 12.18 second 1/4 mile at 110mph. The rear wings are off the car as they catch slightly on the wheels (not great for speed) Don plans to replace them with wider versions in the future.

Brew Guru

Crew Cab Coffee has been a regular fixture in the yard at Heretics this year and Chris has pleased the palette of many enthusiasts with his beautifully blended coffee. What's better than a good cup of coffee? One made in the back of a VW and served with a smile and a side order of car chat.

Recording it all

Spotted your vehicle in amongst our Heretics coverage this year? Get in touch, we'd be happy to send you the photo for you to share on social media or even get framed to put up at home!

Dash Cam

What better way to gain inspiration for your own Porsche or VW interior project than to walk around and nosey at everyone elses. Here's just a few that caught our eye.

Bug Love

We had another bumper turn out for the classic Beetle, with models from the fifties through to the seventies in all manner of colours and styles. Check these out!

Van Life

You don't have to live in your van to love the van life. Whether it is a classic Splitscreen or a more modern T4 or new T6 there's plenty to talk about and get inspired by.

Thank you

I guess it is fitting to finish on a message of thanks to you all. Thanks to all those who have prepared food, served drinks and sold ice cream over the course of the year. To our photographers Lee and Dean, and Mike who recorded our video coverage. To our DJ's Kenny, Brian, Ian and Gazman. To our staff who stayed on late to help everything run smoothly and conduct our over subscribed warehouse tours, and lastly, another thank you for coming along with your awesome vehicles and making Heretics what it is.

Sad that Heretics is over for the year? We do still have another event left in the diary. Our Santa Cruise is back on Sunday 11th December. Check out last years coverage here and find the details for the 2022 event on Facebook. We hope you can make it.
