Heretics On The Road x The Classic Motor Hub: August 2023
We did it! That's 3 great Heretics on the Road events done for 2023, the last being at the lovely Classic Motor Hub in Cirencester. Did we enjoy getting out and meeting everyone? You bet we did! Read on and check out these fabulous pics, and make sure you don't miss out on the last of the season in Shoreham on 7th September.
What is The Classic Motor Hub?
Set in 5 acres on the former RAF Bidbury site, The Classic Motor Hub is in the heart of the Cotswolds, 30 miles west of Oxford and the same again to the east of Gloucester. They are a motoring destination offering wonderful food and drink, but also some beautifully prepared showrooms selling a wide variety of classic cars and also offering vehicle storage and maintenance for those requiring it.
In short, if you are in that area of the UK it is certainly worth dropping by for a spot of car window shopping and a coffee and a bite to eat.

The time and place
It's been a long time since a Heretics event took place at the weekend, but this get-together took place on a Saturday morning, rather than our usual weekday evening fixture. Despite wet weather the night before, the sun burst through the clouds for us when it mattered and everyone stayed dry and happy!

So many new faces
As we have said before, the whole reason for getting out "On The Road" is to meet more people and see more cars! Whilst we love bumping into show regulars and contributors like Martin from Well Chuffed Media (thanks for the awesome pics) it's great to have the chance to tell someone all about our company, face to face, especially if they haven't shopped with us before.

People's Choice Award
As with our other Heretics events in 2023, we presented an award to the vehicle with the most votes from fellow showgoers, and this time around a beautiful blue Karmann Ghia was chosen from the 100+ vehicles in attendance. Catching them just as they went to head home, Steph presented the award to make it official before waving them on their way.

Thanks for the tunes!
Just like we do back at HQ, we've been lucky enough to find a few DJs to play at our On The Road events too. Thanks to Ian from Dance Off Mobile DJs for bringing the soundtrack to our Saturday morning at The Classic Motor Hub.

Citrus vibes
We are big fans of bold colours, and the citrus colour palette suits a particular era of vehicles so well. We even 'bent the rules' and let this fabulous Renault 5 Maxi Turbo join us... Just look at those hips!

Ice cream time?
When the clouds parted and the sun shone through there was only one purveyour of frozen refreshments we wanted parked next to us, and that was of course, Polly's Parlour. Yum!

Back in black
In contrast to the bright colours we highlighted above, there were plenty wearing darker shades on their panels and looking great too.

By any means...
A special mention to the owner of the lovely green Beetle that arrived a little late on a trailer. Sadly, it broke down on the way to The Classic Motor Hub, but rather than throw in the towel, they went home, got the trailer and brought it along anyway. That's the kind of commitment we like to see!

Thank you for coming
We are always very grateful to those who make the trip, near or far to attend one of our events. It really is wonderful to see you and your vehicles. We had a great time at The Classic Motor Hub (a big shout out to all the team there) and look forward to returning again in the future. As the photo below suggests, Mike B filmed the event for us, and we'll be dropping that very soon too!
