Reviews & Ratings
Mahle Machine In Forged 1776cc 90.5mm Barrel & Piston Kit.

This kit is designed to bolt onto modified Type-1 engine case with the standard 69mm crankshaft. Installing this kit will increase displacement to 1776cc and requires machining of the standard 1300-1600cc twin port engine case and cylinder heads to fit. We do sell engine cases and cylinder heads designed & pre-cut for 1776cc barrels & pistons.

Forged pistons are the strongest available for aircooled VWs; the grain structure of the metal is a lot tighter meaning they can withstand higher loads than the cast equivalent and will therefore be more suited to high performance engines and make for a longer lasting engine.

This Mahle kit includes the piston rings, guedgeon pins and clips as well as the barrels & pistons; a complete set for 1 engine.

Mahle Barrels & Piston kits are top quality items, manufactured by an OEM supplier with stringent quality control. Fit a Mahle barrel & piston kits safe in the knowledge that you are getting the best parts are available for your Classic VW engine.

Product Questions

Could you give a size for machining sizes for case and heads regards db

Thanks for the enquiry. I'm afraid we don't have the accurate spec outlining the machining sizes required, that we can pass on to you.
