Reviews & Ratings
  • 100% new aluminium case for unmatched durability.
  • Includes 1-year warranty in UK and Mainland Europe.
  • Packed with high-performance components.
Our 100% brand new SSP 1776cc twin-port AD-code performance engine features a performance camshaft and big-valve heads. Built with an extra strong aluminium case and using all new parts, this engine is designed for solid performance and reliability. It includes Empi's latest GTV-2 40 x 35.5mm big valved heads, an aluminium race case, a 69mm forged counter-weighted crankshaft, and forged I-beam rods. Other top spec components include a forged 8 dowel flywheel, a fully balanced bottom end, a Schadek high flowing oil pump, Engle's 110 camshaft, CB Performance's forged rockers, and SCAT stainless steel valve covers.

Our engines are meticulously assembled in the UK on an IATF 16949 / ISO 9002 certified assembly line. Each engine is spun for half an hour at 2000rpm to ensure reliability, with oil pressure, cylinder compression, and oil leaks checked before dispatch. Suitable for unleaded fuel, the engine comes with a gasket kit, new oil cooler, and lightened flywheel. The package also includes a 1-year warranty in the UK and Mainland Europe, with no exchange required. Please note that installation must be supervised by an experienced person, and additional ancillary parts like an oil cooling system, carburettors, and exhaust are necessary.

Product Questions

Hello, does SSP 1776cc engine come with the case drilled for full flow? Cheers
Question by: John Gatt on 16 Sept 2024, 04:23
Afternoon John,

Yes they do, they come with a 3/4" JIC return fitting installed in the crank case. You may also need the 90degree fitting AC115002 if you're running push on hoses with hose clamps or you may decide to make your own oil hoses with screw together or crimped ends.

Hi does SSP 1776cc engine have forged pistons/barrels. Is this Scat engine or all SSP parts?
Question by: Matt on 8 Apr 2021, 19:28
These are not a SCAT engine. These are built up in the UK using quality components. The Piston and Barrels used are Forged Mahle items.

What Oil temperature is standard ? when running after 45 mins motorway at 2800 revs. dry road conditions?
Question by: Andrew Lafferty on 12 Sept 2023, 22:27
Ideally you should try to keep oil temps between 90-105 deg C.

When I'm out in my bug (2332cc) I use that as a guide to cruising speed, not the rev counter / speedo.
