What are the dimensions of this tank compared to the original?
Question by: Gordon Newell on 2 Jun 2021, 12:04
These have an increased capacity bringing the top of the tank approx. 25mm from the top of the filler. All other dimensions remain the same.

Am I right this tank will fit in 1968 and later beetles but the original fuel filler neck can't be reused and you have to open the front bonnet/boot lid to fill up the tank like 61-67 beetles.
Question by: Ben Dordoy on 18 Sept 2021, 19:54
Yes correct you can use this on later beetles but you will need to fill up under the bonnet like an early model.

I have a espacher beetle heater Will this clear it
Question by: Chris on 15 Aug 2021, 20:44
We can't be 100% sure, but we think it won't work with your existing petrol heater. The sizes are 29” long 16.5” wide 11” high if that helps.

Currently unable to offer a large capacity late tank

As the tank is deeper and the fuel sender is top mounted is there a recommended modification or alternative sender that will reach the bottom of the tank? rather than just reading empty when the extra 20litres is still available.
Question by: Matt Cookson on 10 Mar 2025, 22:02
Afternoon Matt,
We do a universal VDO sender, see part number V226001. You should be able to get this to read a little more accurately than your standard sender. It may just stay full for a littler longer than expected, but will read correctly when empty.
