Reviews & Ratings
Silicone flywheel oil seal. Red. Each
Flywheel main oil seal, as fitted to the engine case of all 1200cc - 1600cc based aircooled engines as fitted to Beetles, T2 Split Buses, T2 Bays & Type-3s. It serves an important role to seal between the crankcase and the flywheel / crankshaft, keeping oil inside the engine case.
If your VW is leaving a puddle of oil behind when you park up then it is very important to investigate; if the oil is dripping between your gearbox and engine then it is likely the flywheel oil seal is leaking and this will need replacing immediately.
This is the Red Silicone version, a popular choice over the standard rubber seal.
Please note: This will not fit 25hp or 30hp fixed pedestal engines built before 1961.
