If I fitted these to a 1972 T2 bus with a 1700cc type 4 engine rather than machining the heads as stated as one of ours is damaged could I just put 2 new 1800cc heads on with this kit and job done?

Afternoon Jez,
Sorry no, the 1800 heads use the same register as the 2.0 heads. If you want to run the 1.8 heads, which is a great idea, then try to find a 2.0 crank and rods. Then use the 96mm's for a 2.0.
