Are you sure this is only for use with the Plastic Chrome Trim ? Original Trims were Bright Metal. I understood the Plastic was only used as an Alternative to the Bright Metal Trim but still using the same Windscreen Rubber.

Yes, this version from the current supplier uses the plastic insert trim.
