Can you tell me what situation these flanges would be used for ? And what size pipe goes into them?

These are used when converting an exhaust that originally cam with a bolt up connection to the heat exchanger and you now wish to run conventional heat exchangers with a clamp on / stock style connection. Size wise I haven't got that infor but they do have a standard i/d for a std heat exchanger / J pipe.
For the following mufflers;

Although we only order these with the stock style clamp on heat exchanger connection.
