My indicator doesn’t self cancel. Should it?

Hi, assuming the vehicle still has its original steering wheel etc the indicators should self cancel. If it has an aftermarket wheel and boss then that may be the cause of the issue as it is not uncommon for them not to have provision for the self cancelling feature.
