June '22: Heretics Photo Gallery

Another month has flown past and we've just hosted our third Heretics meet of the year! That means there are only 3 more left in 2022. If you haven't been down yet the next one is Thursday 21st July.

With the thermometer reading scorchio, and special guest Dan Chambers showing his Mk1 project for the first time on Sussex soil we were expecting a bumper turnout. Read on to see how it all went down.

Bringing enthusiasts together

This shot of the yard gives just a taster of the eclectic mix of metal that came along to join us. It's the unusual vehicles that always attract a crowd as enthusiasts get nerdy about why they are different, or how few of them were ever made in the first place. Whether it's a GT3RS, a Trekker, or a Golf Rallye that gets your blood pumping there was, as the cliché goes, something for everyone.

Sounding Good

It was a pleasure to have DJ Gazman back with Eddie the Love Bus spinning the tunes for us all to enjoy. Gary has been a regular at our events since our time in Burgess Hill and he definitely knows a good time when he sees one.

Seeing Red

Not in a bad way, of course... Most cars look great in red and VWs and Porsche are no exception. A special mention for staff member Neil's T5, now sporting comedy 'Royal Nail' stickers.. We're hoping he'll have a black cat on the passenger seat next month!

Undercover Bus Drivers

Another great showing from the local Bus and Transporter community, with examples representing all ages and styles. Here are just a few parked up under the canopy.

Feeling Blue

We were certainly feeling these...Vans, Porsches and Convertible Golfs. What more could you want?!!

Introducing Dan Chambers

We will put together a whole article dedicated to the project we have recently completed with You Tuber Dan Chambers however, it was great to have his gorgeous self-built Mk1 GTI on display for all to see, now it's pretty much finished.

Check out his channel here to see the full build story.

The White Stuff

Continuing our colour coded collections, here are just a few of the paler paint shades we spotted in the yard and car park.

Roof Tent!

I think this was the first time we've had a roof tent set up at a Heretics meet. Sat on top of a tidy Mk2 Golf it was a source of intrigue all evening.

Oranges and Lemons

Bright colours on 70s aircooled classics. Perfect!

Watercooled VW Friends

Some great watercooled diversity as ever from our local VW community. Golf Rallye, Citi Golf and a Corrado to name just a few.

More Busses...

More of the big stuff, and a few glimpses inside too.

Porsche 914 Pair

These two mid-engined Porsches really drew a crowd. Matt's graffiti-covered car is anything but subtle whereas Jonny's EV-powered example is far more understated, and boasts a high-tech interior to match. Want one? Read our 914 Buying Guide here

Burgers, Ice Cream and Coffee!

To top off the tasty burgers and dirty fries from Lee and Sarah, we were pleased to welcome along Polly's Parlour with their high-top Splitscreen Ice Cream truck to serve a delicious dessert. Big thanks for coming along guys, and we look forward to seeing you again next month.

Whether it was a cup before dinner, or something to help your food settle afterwards, Chris and his Crew Cab coffee was once again busy keeping the caffeine flowing too.

Grey Scale

If you like your classics, campers or sports cars in a darker shade, these are for you!

If you live locally and are still to make it along to one of our Heretics events, you will have a few more chances this year. Put Thursday 21st July, Thursday 18th August and Thursday 15th September in your diary. All VW and Porsche vehicles are welcome and gates open around 5.30 with food and music from 6pm. You'll find more information on our Facebook page here

We look forward to seeing you there.
