Car radios can be specified with different colour preset buttons, volume control knobs and a choice of fascia to best reflect what the vehicle would have been fitted with originally.
For those looking to build a comprehensive car audio system for their classic car, the RetroSound headunit is ideal. With RCA outputs to work in partnership with a RetroSound amplifier or RetroSound active subwoofer, there are a choice of inputs from basic auxiliary line-in, to USB, Bluetooth for music streaming and handsfree calls and also Apple device control for iPod/iPhone.
Of course, a brand new RetroSound car stereo would be pointless without speakers, and with a healthy 25w x 4 channel RMS power amplifier on board you’ll be able to connect to your existing speaker set up, or one of RetroSounds speaker offerings which are tailored for application. For Type 2 owners a bespoke VW Splitscreen dashboard speaker comes with a custom bracket helping to hide a 6.5” dual coil speaker in the standard location, alternatively VW Beetle kick panel speakers will add sound in both front footwells without upsetting the aesthetics.
