Porsche Club GB at Goodwood: Photo Gallery

It may have been a blowy Tuesday afternoon with only 100 or so cars in attendance, but the Porsche Club GB track day with added Boxster Spyder meet-up was much needed for all involved. Chris and I had hopped in our respective cars and journeyed around 20 minutes to Goodwood Motor Circuit to once more chat to enthusiasts face to face, in real life. What a joy, to see cars up close, meet new people, and in such fantastic surroundings. Our thanks to all involved with making it go ahead.

On Track with Porsche Club GB

With the necessary precautions in place, Porsche Club GB held their first track day of the year at the legendary Goodwood Circuit in West Sussex. It had been stormy overnight but by lunchtime, the track was drying and clearly, club members were finding their confidence in the corners. Cars on the circuit ranged from a 987 Boxster through to 991 GT3 RS and a gorgeous yellow 993 RS. The beauty of Porsche club track days is small session numbers and respect of the rules by other drivers.

Boxster Spyder Celebration

It's around 10 years since the first 987 Boxster Spyder was sold, and 25 years since the mid-engined Boxster burst onto the scene. The Spyder is the most performance version of the Boxster, with the underpinnings of the Cayman GT4, utilising a bespoke rear end and modified GT3 front suspension. There must have been 40 examples of 987, 718, and 981 Boxster Spyder in attendance in a huge range of colours, from silver, white and black through to bright blue and green and red. They even managed to sneak onto the circuit to capture a commemorative photograph to mark the occasion too.

Tagging on

Dotted in amongst the track cars and Spyders were 911s from almost all eras, including a beautiful Singer built example.

More from the Paddock

With vehicles moving around for track time and photo opportunities, and other members dropping by for a coffee and a chat there was plenty to photograph in the Goodwood paddock. Now we've had a taste for normal again we're looking forward to getting out to a few more events, and fingers crossed even hosting our Heretics evenings when the time is right. Hopefully, we'll see you all again soon. Andy
