Le Mans Classic 2023: Photo Gallery
2023 marked the centenary of the Le Mans 24-hour race, and Don from our Technical Team hopped the channel, headed to Circuit de La Sarthe to take in all the Le Mans Classic action. Here is just a taster of what Le Mans Classic is all about.
Another big anniversary...
On top of the 100-year race celebrations, Porsche continued to party for their 75th anniversary, with a huge Stuttgart contingent on display, hitting the track and scattered across all the campsites. The scale of this event is simply mind-blowing.

The Legends
It wouldn't be Classic Le Mans without some Group C action. If you were born in the 70s or 80s these were the endurance racing poster cars of your childhood. Looking equally resplendent and further along the paddock were the Porsche GT1 and the 993 GT2 of the mid-late 90s.

VW turn out
Keen not to be overlooked, there was a big VW presence from owners across Europe, including this classy combo - a Splitscreen pickup with a classic Formula Vee on the back.

And what about the racing?
Yeah... There was lots and lots of racing going on too! Whilst the classic race cars aren't put through a non-stop 24-hour endurance test like the modern version, there is racing happening all weekend, with plenty of support races before 3 rounds of Classic Le Mans racing. Each of these rounds lasts about 45 minutes and pits relevant age machinery against each other throughout the day and night, to bring back the spirit of the past performances at this legendary circuit.

All these great pics make you want to go, doesn't it?! Classic Le Mans only happens every 2 years, so you've got a bit of a wait - but the good news is, it will be worth it, and we'll probably see you there!!
If this is up your street, we expect you'll also enjoy events such as the Goodwood Revival and the Silverstone Festival.
Our thanks to Don for sharing his experience with us, and to JB for the extra on-track photos.
