Heretics July 2024: Photo Gallery
It was a glorious day here on the South Coast of the UK, perfect for throwing open the gates at Heritage HQ and welcoming our friends over for another of our infamous Heretics evenings. Keep scrolling and let us summarise the whole thing just in case you missed it... To save you a trip to the bottom of the page, the next one is Thursday 15th August.
Summer party!
Nothing beats a long summer evening... We don't quite have a sea view from our warehouse yard, but aside from that, the music, the cars and the ice cream gave us all those summer holiday vibes. A big thanks to everyone who made it down. Stay tuned for the video.

Picking brains and chewing fat...
Our Heretics events are a great time to chat with fellow enthusiasts, maybe get some thoughts on an intermittent fault or discuss planned upgrades with an owner who has already completed such work. This sense of community adds to the enjoyment we get from our hobby.

Grub's Up!
Our thanks to Chuckaburger and Polly's Parlour for providing hot and cold refreshments for us for the evening, and to Kenny for keeping our ears full of tunes (not the cough sweets though, that would be weird!)
MX5 Engined Mk2 Golf
Weighing around 870kg and delivering 200bhp plus from a turbocharged MX5 engine under the bonnet, this Mk2 Golf sporting Audi-inspired livery really drew a crowd. With the engine mounted longitudinally, the power is supplied to the rear wheels and can be enjoyed from the 'comfort' of a stripped-out interior. It's great to see a project like this in the flesh and we look forward to seeing it again when the next engine goes in. The owner is hoping for closer to 400bhp.
Rusty Caddy
You may recognise the car... It was green back at May's meet. Panic not though... It's not been parked in the sea, instead treated to a full vinyl wrap. What do you reckon?
All shapes and sizes
It's not often you see them parked together, but amazingly I'd never drawn a parallel between the Type 3 Fastback and the Scirocco until seeing this photo; can you see the cross-over styling traits? Elsewhere in the car park and the yard we had a Mk1 Scirocco Storm, a lovely Type 25 panel can, a Polo GTI and our green 'scrappage scheme survivor' Golf, which you can follow on our YouTube channel. It was also great to have Jamie from our Trade Team join us, and bring his stunning Samba along.
Friends in high places!
No need to worry about speed bumps with that arch gap!! This lovely looking Land Rover was back for another evening with us.
Suns out Funs out!
It was certainly Beach Buggy weather in Shoreham-by-Sea, but if that's a little too stripped back for you, there were plenty of Porsches to get excited about, not to mention other classic VWs including Mk1 Golf Cabriolet (with the roof down) Karmann Ghia, Type 3 and even our 'Rally Beetle' made an appearance ahead of some planned works in the coming months.
Want a great classic to enjoy this summer? Read our Mk1 Rabbit Cabriolet buyers guide here.
We look forward to welcoming you all back again next month!
