9WERKS at the Warehouse 2024: Photo Gallery
Last weekend it was our pleasure to invite the 9WERKS Driven Not Hidden Collective to join us for a breakfast meet with a difference... It was held inside our 40,000 sq.ft warehouse!
Indoor Porsche meeting
Big exhibitions aside, it's not very often that Porsche owners enjoy the shelter of a roof when they meet for coffee, but that is exactly what our event offered. With 18 cars parked inside (with room for a few more if needed) and a similar number outside basking in the cool, bright sunshine owners could converse without the bitter chill of a January breeze, or the risk of rain putting a dampener on things.
It was a chance to not only catch up with friends after the Christmas break but also a chance for our team (Dean, Julian, Mark and myself) to show owners around, chat about Porsche parts for their projects and hopefully recruit a few new customers too!
Push start!
With overly sensitive fire sensors we couldn't risk the sprinker system being set off, so each car was pushed into position... A unique bonding experience for owners and a chance to inspect the cars a little closer up!
Urban Art
It was down to 9WERKS Podcast host Andy Brookes to park his stunning 911 SC, nicknamed 'Thermidor' in front of our now infamous Graffiti wall. It looked great there... and served as a lovely backdrop to the later Hot Wheels racing antics! You may remember last year's event where we had a Porsche 914 parked in the same spot.
Hot Wheels you say?
Indeed...And it got quite competitive and very funny! Having procured a track from a friend, Andy was the Master of Ceremonies, introducing each vehicle, and its owner. For those who were carless, or couldn't bear to open up a packet from their collection, the opportunity to 'rent a racer' was offered by fellow 9WERKS podcast host Max Newman, however, they weren't quite on the pace, and in the end, it was Rachel, and her blue 928, that took the crown.
Out in the sunshine
For those needing to get away early (or with PDK vehicle which couldn't be pushed), our yard offered suitable shelter and curated parking for Porsche owners. And there was some very tasty machinery on show from 964 RS, 964 Turbo and a 996 GT2 through to a Cayman GT4, 914, Boxsters, GTS models, an Outlaw SC and Lee's very own 'Little Irish' 996 hotrod amongst others.
Breakfast is served
A big thanks to Nic and Ben who were on hand to serve hot drinks and delicious breakfast sandwiches. They certainly helped keep the cold at bay and a fill a hole in our stomachs!
Finishing with a Podcast
The 9WERKS team are seasoned podcasters, and kindly invited me to join their panel to discuss my plans for the year ahead with my Porsche 944 and at Heritage HQ too. Further contributions regarding road trips and car purchases were added from members of the 'Collective' adding to the whole inclusive feel of the event. If you haven't already do look up the 9WERKS Radio podcast. Stay tuned, this one should be live in a week or so!
So, that was last Sunday... And it's got us in the mood for getting out and about and chatting cars with friends. Thanks to everyone who came down, thanks to Lee, Andy and Max, Mark, Dean and Julian, and all of our team who worked hard in the days leading up to the event to ensure the floor and yard were clear for so many cars to be able to park.
See you at the next one!
Andy
