This is a good quality Forst Oil strainer filter for the standard Type-1 based 1200-1600cc aircooled VW engines with 18.5mm diameter oil pickup pipe. This size is suitable for all 1969- onwards aircooled Type-1 based engines.

On a standard 1200-1600cc engine this is the only filter, so it is imperative that it is clean and in good condition to ensure the smooth running and longevity of your engine. This strainer is the only thing that prevents particles and impurities from getting sucked up into the oil pickup pipe in the oil pan.
