Item 1H0-201-801/C is listed for a 1977 T2 bay bus, however engine CJ is not listed. My bus does have the old bracket on the firewall where the oval shape canister used to be. Is this item suitable for my bus (with a modified bracket)?

These where really only for the 2.0 models the original one might of been a different shape on your year so, your stock lower vent hose may not fit this canister, but since this is just a fresh air intake for the canister, the vent can be left open
