Does this work with Beetles with an alternator?

Yes it will as most models 73 >> had an alternator and the Dynamo was easily converted to alternator on most models

Does a detailed instruction manual come with this product? i bought one and just got it in and i am at a total loss on what to do. so if yall can help me out that would be great.

Thanks for the enquiry. Our wiring looms do not include wiring diagrams, but colour diagrams including the Super Beetle, can be downloaded from the technical section of the www.samba.com
