Reviews & Ratings

Castrol Classic XL 20w/50 is a conventional multigrade engine oil of good all round performance, formulated with high quality mineral oils plus selected additives, ideally suited to older technology and classic car and classic motorcycle engines.

Castrol Classic XL 20w/50 offers excellent oil consumption and a high level of engine wear protection.

Please note: Metal oil cans may arrive dented, as long as they are not leaking this is viewed by Heritage Parts Centre as acceptable. If you would like the guarantee of an un-dented can, we advise you to collect in person.

Thanks for the enquiry. I'm afraid we have no information to confirm if this oil would be appropriate for your application. We only list it for the models shown.

is this suitable for my 1983 911 carrera 3164 cc ?
Question by: James mark sharpley on 9 Sept 2021, 11:33
There is a lot of discussion on use of oils in air cooled engines and 20-50 was the oil of choice for many years however it appears 10-40 semi and 15-40 mineral are also recommended. I can't give you a definitive answer. just don't use a fully synthetic oil or anything with a lower viscosity than a 10-40. It might be worth doing some research via the Porsche forums etc to see what would be suitable for your specific requirements.
