Looking to change your Mk1 Golf Wheels?

Trust Heritage Parts Centre as your VW Golf Mk1 wheel experts. Starting with OE (original equipment) steel wheels for that classic stock appearance, we list the popular G60 steel wheel, a favourite for the early Golf enthusiasts. Naturally, we also carry the required plastic centre caps, and the black bolt caps to complete the transformation.

Our range of Mk1 Golf alloy wheels is built on some real cult classics within the VW scene. Designs such as the Ronal Turbo and Lenso BSX which mimics the iconic BBS wheel are great choices for the hot hatch, or you could even fit a set of SSP Fooks to Golf Mk1 if you bought some PCD adapters, giving you a perfect real resto-custom look.

How do Mk1 Golf Wheel Spacers work?

Golf Mk1 wheel spacers are a CNC machined plate that sits sandwiched between your wheel of choice and the brake disc or drum. They will push your wheels a little further out into the wheel arches, increasing the track width, improving road holding and making the car a little better to look at too.

One thing you need to consider though, is that unless you are fitting bolt on wheel spacers for Mk1 Golf, you will need to use longer wheel bolts, to ensure a safe amount of thread is still within the hub.

If you are using a 5mm or 10mm thick spacer, then add that extra measurement to the total length of your Golf Mk1 wheel bolts to make sure you are safe.

Want to fit Porsche Wheels to your VW Golf Mk1?

In the same way that wheel spacers will push your wheels out further into the arch, you can also use these CNC machined inserts to change the stud pattern (PCD) to allow the fitment of wheels from another manufacturer.

Whilst early watercooled VWs had 4x100 PCD, it is not uncommon to see owners fitting wheels from the Porsche back catalogue which require a 4x130 PCD.

With 4 bolts you attach the PCD adaptor to the wheel hub, and then offer the wheel onto the adapter and bolt it to the 5 threaded holes that are machined into it.

Golf Mk1 PCD adapters are much thicker than the average wheel spacer, so be sure to calculate the desired end offset correctly when ordering. ET49 wheel +25mm adapter = ET24.
