Original and Performance VW Engines and Engine Parts
As beautiful as our cars are, they were all built for driving rather than parking up and admiring, which means we must take care of what keeps them moving. Whether you own a vintage Porsche or a classic Volkswagen, your engine deserves a moment of attention before every drive, just for a quick routine inspection.
How to check your car engine
Whilst the engine is cold, take a minute to check the engine oil, run you finger over any oil seals including the rocker cover gasket, and give the alternator or fan belt a twist to ensure its under suitable tension, especially on an aircooled engine where it powers the engine cooling fan.
Why use best quality engine parts?
We pride ourselves on offering the best quality VW engine parts and replacement Porsche engine parts from all the biggest brands. Whether its original specification or a performance product we work closely with manufacturers such as MAHLE, AA, Scat, Kolbenschmidt, Elring, URO, FORST, SSP, EMPI, Febi, MEYLE, CSP and Autotech. Please speak to our team if you have a specific requirement or brand of choice for your engine parts.
Servicing your classic car engine
Always follow the recommended engine service schedule to keep your VW or Porsche engine in the best shape. Oil and oil filter changes should be completed annually, if not more frequently. Spark plugs inspected and replaced with new if required, likewise the HT leads, distributor cap and rotor arm. If your classic Volkswagen uses contact breaker points its prudent to regularly check the gap and always carry a spare set in case of mechanical breakdown.
As enthusiasts, we owe it to our classics to listen for anything unusual when starting and accelerating, especially if it sounds like it might be coming from the engine bay. Catching an engine problem early could mean the difference between an oil seal and set of bearings or a brand new engine case costing much, much more.
How to produce more engine power
For as long as the internal combustion engine has existed, enthusiasts have wanted to modify them to produce more power and go faster. If this sounds like you, then you are in the right place. We have over 35 years’ experience supplying performance aircooled engine parts from big valve cylinder heads, pistons and barrels, camshafts, crankshafts and more.
It doesn’t matter if you are building a race car or you just want some fun on the roads, our team of experts and enthusiasts can advise you on what works well together, and the sort of power you could expect to gain in exchange for your efforts.
We equally understand not everyone cares for driving fast. Our older cars spark nostalgia within us every time we get behind the wheel, and part of that is driving for pleasure, rather than rushing from A to B as we might in everyday life. You won’t be setting any world records in a restored campervan, but you do want to know you’ll arrive at the campsite or show ground without any need for mechanical intervention on the way.
