Simply Porsche 2022: Show Gallery

Last Sunday was our first trip to Beaulieu for the Simply Porsche show since the Pandemic had occurred. Chris and Andy jumped in the van and whizzed along the coast to set up a stand and check it out. Read on to find out how they got along.

The National Motor Museum

As venues for car shows go they don't come much better than Beaulieu. For the cost of entry to the show not only are owners blessed with 1000 or more of Stuttgart's finest sports cars parked within the grounds but also granted complimentary admission to the National Motor Museum and invited to ride on the iconic Monorail too.

With a large adventure playground for the kids and the historic Palace House to explore there is plenty going on for all the family.

Early Starters

Our trade pitch was reserved, meaning we needed to hit the road before 7 am to arrive in the picturesque New Forest on time. The show is organised by TIPEC (The Independent Porsche Enthusiasts Club) and attracts Porsche models of all ages. It was certainly more diverse than other Porsche events we'd attended in recent years.

Porsche and Picnics

There were plenty of enthusiasts out to make a day of it, with picnic hampers, fold-up tables, and camping chairs gathered around their vehicles. In the spirit of the Jubilee weekend, the show had a real community feel to it with most owners happy to chat about their vehicles.

Custom Touches

There were modified Porsches of all ages on display. Here are just a handful that caught my eye as I wandered around.

The 928

There is a strong enthusiast following for the 'space age' V8 Coupe, and that was clear from the number of vehicles on display. Spanning several decades it's fascinating to see how the model evolved first-hand when they are lined up like this.

Modern Porsche

Whilst our Porsche parts range only covers up to 997 and 987 the newer machines still impress us with their presence and performance, not to mention reliability!

Go for Gold!

Yellow is a pretty popular colour choice for a sporty Porsche, orange is a little more unusual, especially on a Speedster, and you don't see many like this 997 Targa which is finished in Nordic Gold.

Rainbow Racecar

The team from Brookspeed had a great display of track focussed vehicles, including this cool Cayman GT4 with rainbow-inspired livery.

Blue Crew

Whilst Guards Red is statistically the most popular Porsche colour, blue isn't far behind when it comes to choosing a shade to adorn your bodywork. You only have to look at these examples to see why.

924 Carrera GTS

It's not every day you see a Carrera GTS parked next to a 924 Turbo, the car on which the homologation special was based. That's probably because Porsche only ever made 59 of these wide arch 245bhp machines and not all of those were street legal.

Topics of Conversation

Every car has a story, and most owners are more than happy to share them with you if you ask. Whilst we didn't have time to stop and natter all day, we found plenty of people who did.

Home Time!

Some cars started to leave within the first hour - but the majority made it to lunchtime, with the show naturally coming to a conclusion around 3pm.

A big thanks to everyone who stopped by the stand for a chat or to pick our brains regarding your Porsche project. Our thanks to the organisers at TIPEC and also the team at Beaulieu for hositing. We hope you had a great day out, we're certainly looking forward to going back again in the future.
