Ever since we first met Frank Cassidy, the driving force behind Boxengasse, we've been championing his vision to create a Porsche show that has a vibe like no other. Whilst our attendance at events has been limited throughout the pandemic period, we got lucky once more and head to Oxfordshire for the excellent Oilcooled 21.

Casual Convoy from Cobham

I'd arranged to meet up with a few friends on the way, and this ended up extending to 35 Porsches parked in the Cobham services car park. From G Body 911 models through to 964s, 996, 997, and even a 991 GT3RS, not to mention at least 4 examples of the 944

Arriving in style

We arrived early and parked up on the road leading into the Boxengasse estate whilst the show crew finished preparations. A chance to catch up with some mates, before the sights of the show could distract us.

Heritage in attendance

First stop was a check in with Chris, Dean and Janice on the Heritage Parts Centre stand. With a selection of products on display and some free merchandise to pick up, it was a great opportunity for us to connect with customers in person, and also explain what we are all about to those who are yet to purchase parts from us.

Unicorns grazing in the paddock

With a new layout that centred around the trade area, there was a specific paddock for watercooled Porsches to park up, the lakeside area which included catering and a stage for live music, and a paddock occupied by the unicorns...

RS badged Porsche 993s in a choice of colours, an original 911 ST, 964 RS, a Martini edition Turbo and a 959... Yes, a real-life 959 in the wild.

EV 914 Debut

It was a real pleasure, as ever to chat with Jonny from Classic Retrofit. He was unveiling the fruits of many years of labour: an electric Porsche 914, built with the help of Moggy at Electric Classic Cars. With a kerb weight of 1250kg and around 300bhp on tap, it's sure to be a riot to drive out on the road.

Let the pictures do the talking...

Enough of the waffle, this is what you came for!

Inside Autofarm

Sharing the Boxengasse space with Frank's personal collection is a longstanding specialist workshop called Autofarm. They threw open their doors, and had presented their workshop with vehicles in all stages of restoration and rebuild, offering a chance for potential customers to check out their attention to detail. For those contemplating a restoration project, a stripped body shell with all rust hotspots highlighted was a great centerpiece and reality check - if you need Porsche 911 panels, we can help!

See you again next year

Whilst things ended a little early with the onslaught of heavy rain, we left wanting more and looking forward to doing it all over again in 2022. We hope to see you there.

Andy
