Reviews & Ratings
Complete set of Mahle forged 2110cc stroker 90.5mm barrel and pistons designed as an upgrade to your Type 1 1300cc + 1600cc aircooled engine
Stroker barrel and piston sets are designed to make engine assembly easier when fitting larger stroke crankshafts. This is typically achieved by a combination of longer barrels or shallower compression height. By using this type of barrel & piston not so many barrel spacers will be required when doing final set up of deck height and compression ratio.
They have an 90.5mm diameter piston which when used with an 82mm long stroke crankshaft fitted to heavily modified 1300cc to 1600cc engine cases it will give you 2110cc
This stroker barrel & piston kit is designed to be used with a larger throw crankshaft; it is not suitable for use with a standard throw crankshaft.
78mm Crankshaft = 2007cc
82mm Crankshaft = 2110cc
86mm Crankshaft = 2213cc
Requires machining of the case and heads to fit. We do sell engine cases and cylinder heads designed & pre-cut for this barrels & piston kit.
Forged pistons are the strongest available for aircooled VWs; the grain structure of the metal is a lot tighter meaning they can withstand higher loads than the cast equivalent and will therefore be more suited to high performance engines and make for a longer lasting engine.
This Mahle kit includes the piston rings, guedgeon pins and clips as well as the barrels & pistons; a complete set for 1 engine.
Mahle Barrels & Piston kits are top quality items, manufactured by an OEM supplier with stringent quality control. Fit a Mahle barrel & piston kits safe in the knowledge that you are getting the best parts are available for your Classic VW engine.
