Heretics April 2023: Photo Gallery

After six months off we were hoping our inaugural Heretics event of the year was going to be sunkissed and fully reflective of the Spring season we had waited so long for. However, what was a glorious day in West Sussex swiftly became an overcast and wet evening in Shoreham-by-Sea, but that did little to dampen spirits and enthusiast attendance and we were joined by loads of lovely people with a huge variety of awesome vehicles.

In previous years we have held our Heretics event at HQ every month between April and September. This year is a little different, however, as we are also taking Heretics on the road for the first time. This means, there are now only two more chances to get your Heretics fix at HQ this year on Thursday 15th June, and Thursday 7th September. In the months in between you'll be able to find us around the UK at some great automotive destinations. 

On Friday 26th May we will be at Type 2 Detectives in Cambridgeshire, between 6-9 pm.  On Friday 21st July we will be at The Motorist near Leeds, between 6-9 pm. Lastly, you will find us at The Classic Motor Hub in Cirencester on Saturday 19th August between 10.30 am-1.30 pm. 

We hope you'll be able to join us at one or more of them before the year is out. 

"Is this too new?" asked the owner of a white ID Buzz Campervan as he pulled into our yard. Absolutely not, in fact, this was our first up-close experience of the new 'EVTransporter' and it was a real pleasure to have it parked up for enthusiasts to poke around and ask questions about. 

We were most grateful to have Chris our cheerful coffee man serving hot drinks from his vintage Citroen for the evening, and Cairo Van preparing some delicious Egyptian street food to keep us warm and suitably full up. If the sun shines for June's event we may even have some ice creams too! Roll on summer!

This lovely little Mk1 GTI had a great story attached to it, and an unbelievably low odometer reading too. A big thanks to the owner for bringing it along for us all to see. 

In amongst catching up with friends, looking around our warehouse, consuming delicious food, and defrosting with your beverage of choice we added the opportunity to vote for your favourite vehicle from the evening, with the winner receiving a special Heretics award and a few goodies too. 

A big thanks to everyone who found the time to vote and congratulations to Kate and her beautiful 1967 Beetle called Mr. Tickle for picking up the prize. We'll do the same again at all the Heretics events this year, so look out for the voting slips and the box to put them in to have a say in who gets the next one. 

A special mention to our DJ for the evening, Brian Mole for both announcing the award and spinning some cracking tunes for us too. 

You've seen a few cars in the photos above, but we know you are inquisitive to know what else came along. Well here are a few highlights... Including a Honda NSX. Congrats to Heretics regular, Fyse, for buying his dream car - wrong badge, but very cool car. 

We were pleasantly suprised by the number of busses in attendance, with early Splits through to several T6s and of course, the ID Buzz.

As mentioned above, there will only be two more Heretics events at HQ this year, so make sure you have Thursday 15th June, and Thursday 7th September in the diary. If not, we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at next month's event at Type 2 Detectives. Hope you can make it.
