Freezing conditions did nothing to halt enthusiasm for our 4th successive 9Werks at the Warehouse event last weekend, with members of the DNHC (Driven Not Hidden Collective) travelling from as far as Manchester to be with us for a coffee and a chinwag at Heritage HQ.
Driven not Hidden
The owner's social club, which supports all that 9Werks founder Lee Sibley does, is aptly called the Driven Not Hidden Collective. There are plenty of car enthusiasts, both within the Porsche community and beyond, who squirrel their cars away, with more concern for residual value or weather forecasts, and not enough for enjoying the very vehicle they initially lusted after.
That was definitely not the case for this hardy lot! Car cleaning comes secondary to having a good time, and memories made are worth far more than the depreciation a few miles on the clock might bring, even if it means keeping your hat and gloves on when you go indoors!

No two the same
We were treated to colours from all ends of the spectrum, from a Speed Yellow 987 Cayman R, right through to a Havana Brown Porsche 924. Plus, we had bodywork in shades of blue, black, green, red, grey and white along the way. Despite the season, there was a good showing of older models, including a beautiful '73 RS evocation and a white 'whale-tailed' SC.

Wiggle Car Comeback!
Amusingly, it was warmer outside than it was indoors, so the obligatory Wiggle Car Racing was held in the yard this year. The downwards slope certainly increased the speed the cars managed to achieve, but with fewer willing competitors, no overall champion was crowned this time around.
As with previous years, our thanks to Nic & Bens for supplying the hot food and drink.

Setting the tone for a big year ahead!
What's great about this event, is it throws you right back into your hobby, just a few days after Christmas. No waiting around for the sunshine to arrive. Simply wrap up warm and enjoy it!
It also marks the beginning of our 40th Anniversary year. We'll be sharing more about how Heritage started in the coming weeks and months, but ultimately, it all began in a single garage with Karmann Ghia parts in 1986, 40 years ago.
If you are looking for a friendly Porsche community to join, a great podcast to listen to, an informative YouTube channel to watch, plus some brilliant written word to absorb, go check out Lee's hard work over at 9Werks.co.uk
