  • Includes 1-year warranty in UK and Mainland Europe.
  • Packed with high-performance components.
Our 100% brand new SSP 1776cc twin-port AD-code performance engine features a performance camshaft and big-valve heads. Built with an extra strong aluminium case and using all new parts, this engine is designed for solid performance and reliability. It includes Empi's latest GTV-2 40 x 35.5mm big valved heads, an aluminium race case, a 69mm forged counter-weighted crankshaft, and forged I-beam rods. Other top spec components include a forged 8 dowel flywheel, a fully balanced bottom end, a Schadek high flowing oil pump, Engle's 110 camshaft, CB Performance's forged rockers, and SCAT stainless steel valve covers.

Our engines are meticulously assembled in the UK on an IATF 16949 / ISO 9002 certified assembly line. Each engine is spun for half an hour at 2000rpm to ensure reliability, with oil pressure, cylinder compression, and oil leaks checked before dispatch. Suitable for unleaded fuel, the engine comes with a gasket kit, new oil cooler, and lightened flywheel. The package also includes a 1-year warranty in the UK and Mainland Europe, with no exchange required. Please note that installation must be supervised by an experienced person, and additional ancillary parts like an oil cooling system, carburettors, and exhaust are necessary.

Product Questions

Is this engine to powerful for semi automatic gearbox and is the oil pump same fitting like the standard oil pump?
Thank you
Question by: Saso Petrusev on 8 July 2020, 6:25 am
Thanks for the enquiry. These are supplied with an up-rated oil pump with a plain blanking plate. This engine does require a full flow oil system for adequate cooling.
They don't really lend themselves for the low ratio semi auto gearbox and would require an up-rated manual gearbox swap for optimum performance.

Is this engine compatible with a standard 1974 t2 kombi manual gearbox also is the oil cooler included? Does it ship to Australia?
Question by: Alan on 15 Oct 2024, 2:10 am
Afternoon Alan,

Yes that's fine for a T2 and yes it does come with a new stock oil cooler.

But due to the additional HP and higher ambient temps we also do recommend that a fan assisted external oil cooler is fitted along with a screw up oil filter mount and filter.

Ideally the engine should also be matched with a pair of twin carburettors (twin 40's) and a free flowing exhaust.

Yes we ship to Australia, freight is calculated via the website so please add it to your basket and click on the checkout button.
