This 100% new starter motor is suitable for automatic VW T25 Transporters fitted with the 2.0 aircooled engine from July 1981 (VIN 24-C-002907 onwards), as well as 1.9 and 2.1 watercooled models from August 1982 to 1992 (VIN 24-D-000001 onwards). Manufactured as a direct replacement, it provides reliable cranking performance and dependable engine starting.

Before replacing a starter motor, it is worth carrying out a few simple checks to confirm the fault. Ensure the battery and starter cables are clean, secure, and making a good electrical connection. It is also important to verify that at least 12 volts is reaching the starter solenoid when the engine is being cranked. Due to their age and location, many T25s suffer from voltage drop through the wiring loom or ignition switch circuit, which can often mimic the symptoms of a faulty starter motor.
